The Wellness Group Natural Skincare Story

The birth of The Wellness Group came about in 2002. Whilst working with her father, a cosmetic dermatologist, Madeline came to realise that there were no suitable quality skin care products that produced effective results for different skin types.

“Most commercial products were trying to look or smell impressive, rather than be the most effective” says Madeline. “ Considering that the skin is our body’s largest organ, I think it only makes sense that we afford the same attention and care to it that we would our heart. We are aware of the dangers of putting chemicals inside our bodies, so why not apply the same principle to our outerbody, too”.

Madeline Calfas founded The Wellness Group in 2002. By working closely with her father, Dr George Calfas, a cosmetic dermatologist, she was able to bring together the two sciences of naturopathy and dermatology to develop a range of skin care products that harnessed the power of nature to help protect, repair and revitalise the body’s largest organ – the skin.

Madeline possesses an extensive knowledge of naturopathy and nursing, having gained qualifications at the well respected college Health Schools Australia, the University of New England and the University of Western Sydney. She is also a certified cosmetic laser technician and deals with specific skin related cases on a daily basis.

Dr Calfas has been a qualified medical practitioner for over 30 years, having graduated from the University of NSW in 1971 and obtaining postgraduate qualifications in physical medicine from the University of Sydney, and in Dermatology from the University of Wales (UK).
